Rate of annual return indicator
I recall a recent thread about AGL and the weekly chart looked nice and healthy but the rate of return was around 12%!!! Below, a couple of charts, ORI and CTX. Both in good looking trends but no comparison about the returns. The ORI chart dropped out of the list around April Calculating an average annual return is much simpler than the average annual rate of return, which uses a geometric average instead of a regular mean. The formula is: [(1+r 1) x (1+r 2) x (1+r 3) CAGR (Annual Growth Rate) is and indicator of the return on investment. It measures the rate of return on investment for the entire duration of the investment or also the measure investment appreciation. Typically, the CAGR abbreviation is used. It is actually the geometric mean growth rate.
